xtremeDancers

Our Nationally Ranked xtremeDancers include dancers ages five and up. These dancers have many opportunities to perform and compete jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, and ballet pieces throughout the year. Former members have gone on to work in the dance industry and to attend prestigious dance programs across the country on dance scholarships. Placement is by audition only. Members sign a contract committing themselves to participation for one year. Class attendance in all required technique classes is mandatory as is attendance at all scheduled rehearsals and events. xtremeDancers are required to dance from 2 to 10 hours per week depending on level. Acceptance and level placement is at the sole discretion of ADX staff and decisions are final. All serious, interested dancers are encouraged to attend the audition. Images Contemporary Dance Company

Images Contemporary Dance Company was founded in 2005 to provide comprehensive modern dance training to young dancers and as a vehicle to provide concert performance experience within the greater DFW arts community. Directed by Chloe Langley, company members study modern dance technique as a complement to their ballet and jazz training. Through the study of modern dance technique and choreography, dancers ages eight to twenty-six are receiving a fuller understanding of the creative and expressive possibilities of dance. Former Images members have gone on to study modern dance at Long Island University, Point Park, University of North Texas, Sam Houston, and the University of Utah. Their new work, Crossing Point, premiered at the South Dallas Dance Festival.

Águilas Azteca Ballet Folklórico

Led by Walquiria Perales, Águilas Azteca Ballet Folklórico, our award winning Ballet Folklórico Company takes the opportunity to perform throughout the metroplex and Texas. The company trains students ages five through eighteen in traditional Mexican folk dance. Auditions for this performance group are held annually during the summer months. Specific dress code requirements for the audition and technique classes and a source list have been posted for interested dancers.

FIRE!

FIRE! is our hip hop performing company directed by Camille Thompson, a 2005 - 2006 Mavericks dancer. Members sign a contract committing themselves to participation for one year. Class attendance in all required technique classes is mandatory as is attendance at all scheduled rehearsals and events. Students are divided into two companies, levels I and II. Dancers are required to attend 2 to 5 ½ hours of class each week depending on level. These classes will include either a company level modern or ballet class. FIRE! competes throughout the year and has won many awards. In addition to competition these groups have performed together and individually at such varied events as Dance for the Planet, local semi-professional basketball games, church retreats, and fashion shows.
